Katy Perry's Roaring Billboard Success Continues

     Katy Perry is at it again. After her sophomore album spawned 5 Billboard number one singles, the "California Gurls" singer is back at the top of the charts. Her new single, "Roar", has finally beaten out Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" song for the coveted top position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. While both songs recently benefited from promotional performances on the MTV VMAs, Miss Perry's single has only been out for a few weeks now. Whereas Robin Thicke's song has been taking over radio airwaves for the last half of summer.

     However, Katy's newest success does not come without its own  controversy. Since Perry released the lead single from "Prism", there's been quite a backlash as many music fans have pointed out errie similarities in production between "Roar" and "Brave" by Sara Bareilles. The issue? "Brave" was released towards the beginning of the year. Angry fans have gone so far as to start a hate campaign online against Dr. Luke, the producer of "Roar", claiming he stole the beat. It's hard to be number one, isn't it Katy?

Eminem Goes "Berzerk" on Lead Single

After announcing the title of his next album during the VMAS last night (7/26), Eminem's newest single, "Berzerk", made its way online Monday evening. Seems like Em calls on his ater ego, Slim Shady, to take over the mic for this one. Listen to the return of the great Slim Shady for yourself below.

Lady Gaga Readies "Applause" Single, Releases Cover Art

     ARTPOP is right around the corner. As previously announced, the first single off of Lady Gaga's new album is expected to drop on August 19th, just days before her performance at the VMAS. On Sunday (7/29), Gaga released the cover art for the single, apparently titled, "Applause." Her team took to LittleMonsters.net to reveal that the #ARTPOP album would available for pre-order the same day that the single drops. Peep the "Applause" artwork below.

Lady Gaga to Perform at 2013 VMAs

     The VMA nominees were all announced and now comes the fun part: the performances. After making her electrifying debut at the 2009 VMAs, Lady Gaga hits the stage on August 25th to perform the first single off her next album, ARTPOP. The pop music sensation, who apparently made 80 million in the past year, has returned once before for the 2011 awards show as well. She famously performed in drag with Brian May from Queen. Peep her two previous performances below (my personal favorite was her 2009 debut) and make way for mother monster's return.

2013 VMA NOMINEES REVEALED

         The 2013 MTV Videos Music Awards are in full swing! After beginning a promotional campaign featuring "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" by The Beastie Boys, the nominee list was revealed Wednesday (7/17) morning.  Miley Cyrus & Justin Timberlake are nominated for quite a few awards. Of course, one of the most exciting elements of the show is also the performances, which have yet to be announced. With artists like Chris Brown, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, and Lady Gaga all supposedly releasing music by the end of the year, the awards should be full of exciting performances.
